The Buffalo Nickel

I really like the design on the Buffalo Nickel. The coin pictured is an example of a 1938-D Buffalo certified MS 67 by PCGS.

There was a lot going on in the world in 1938.  The Baseball Hall of Fame opens in Cooperstown, New York.  Teflon was invented by Roy J. Plunkett.   Howard Hughes flies around the world in 91 hours.

I’ve owned several PCGS and NGC certified Buffalo Nickels over time and they seem to be very popular with collectors.   I picked up a nice 1928 Buffalo recently certified MS 66 by PCGS.   The populations are scarce for this date and grade.  I have a difficult time keeping nice Buffalo Nickels in stock as they sell fairly quickly.

I prefer the Buffalo Nickel over many of the other nickel designs.
